New and revised courses in MARE project

The MARE project creates a basis for VMU updating and editing the training programs based on the knowledge gained after the training courses and study tours. VMU has 3 revised courses in Bachelor, 1 course associated with Ho Chi Minh University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) and 1 Master new course. VMU has updated and revised 5 B.Eng. disciplines (Management of marine resources; Management of marine environment; Port and Marine Constructions; Management and Control of marine pollution; Area-based management of marine environment) with expected results of 40 students of B.Eng. in Global Maritime Affairs and B.Eng. in Environmental Engineering.

       Updated and revised courses:

             ● Ocean Environmental Management - 4.5 ECTS (Bachelor - Global Maritime Affairs, VMU).

             ● Environmental Law - 4.5 ECTS (Bachelor - Global Maritime Affairs, VMU).

             ● Management and Control of marine pollution - 6 ECTS (Bachelor - Environmental Engineering, VMU).

VMU has developed 1 new M.Eng. discipline with expected results of 10 students of M.Eng. in Environmental Engineering.

         New courses:

             ● Port and Marine constructions - 3 ETCS (Bachelor, associated with HCMUNRE) (being confirmed).

             ● Adapting building construction to the effects of climate change - 4.5 ETCS (Master, VMU).

 

            

The VMU’s coordinating board had consulted carefully with expertized faculties and institutes to decide which parts need to be revised and adjusted. After that, syllabus of courses has been gradually made and completed to be well-prepared for training. A syllabus consists of clear objectives, targeted group, timetable, desired learning outcomes and learning methods.
